James Markley — CTIO
James spearheads the GDX Development Technical Vision and Innovation leveraging his 21 years experience in Information Technology, Cybersecurity, System Planning and Integration (including both COTS and proprietary systems), and machine and client based coding and markup languages (including software development and publishing).
In 2012, James joined the government contracting community, supporting three organizations across three different international footprints. In 2015 he assumed the role of Director of Operations for a government contracting entity providing direct support to the United States Army Intelligence and Security Command (INSCOM), departing his role in 2018 to pursue his continued passion in technology and communications. In 2021, James as a founding member, secured a multi-year blanket purchase agreement, government wide acquisition contract with a coalition partner to provide satellite communications, data backhaul, and personnel tracking to coalition forces using commercially available communications networks.
He has founded and led at an executive level four startup companies, with two of them holding international entities. His experience in international business brings a well rounded knowledge of International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) and Export Administration Regulation (EAR) in technology products.
He brings extensive business experience in Southwest Asia (including the Middle East region and North Africa within the communications, sensor, and personnel tracking spaces. His corporate experience in the government contracting sectors has spanned through four branches of the US Military and the US Intelligence Community, with all experience supporting national security and defense.
He is extensively involved in community service throughout the Tampa Bay region serving on the Seminar For Tomorrow’s Leaders (S4TL) Board of Directors for the last six years. He is an active Rotarian and Paul Harris Fellow, along with a member of the Bequest Society. He’s traveled throughout the Honduras-Nicaragua border region providing biological sand water filters to rural mountain communities changing the lives of children and ensuring that clean water is provided to citizens of the region.
